St Claire…

Hey chums, I know some of you want to keep using old St Claire which is totally fine, I’ll do my best to upload the new lots and stuff as soon as poss separately if you would like to add them yourself.

This won’t fix all the apartment marker problems, but you have probably already fixed them yourself if you’re still playing the world! I hope you’re enjoying the world :)

*ETA, yes your game needs to be up to date for the updated world :)

St Claire has now been updated for Seasons & Supernatural.
I do apologise for the delay in getting this out, but with work and christmas, not to mention CAW being borked sometimes things get a little behind schedule.
I hope you enjoy playing the improved St Claire - you should notice a great reduction in lag due to the routing fixes, however sometimes things do get missed, and if it is a major problem, please let me know so I can fix if it isn’t an easy fix for you to do yourself :)

I know I’m supposed to be working on St Claire (I would have it out by now if CAW was fixed, trust me!) but since I can’t properly export the world I am working on a world I started quite a while ago, that I stopped working on to make something else and update St Claire. After Lucky Palms came out I really wanted to make my own desert world, and so I’ve been chipping away at this off and on for a while.

There’s still soooo much to do, it really is in its infancy - no buildings at all yet - but I am really, REALLY looking forward to building some Mexico-ish type lots, there’s gonna be a run down area, a super swish resort area, some small ranchy type areas (where the fairies & witches hang out) plus a nice lush lake area for farmers. 

I’m doing a ton of terrain painting on it currently, and this afternoon I played around with some of the atmospherics - I was in the mood to make some sunrises :P

And please, don’t send me any more messages asking me when St Claire will be ready, because I honestly have no idea. But believe me when I say you will be the first to know when it is updated!

I have that… itch… to start a brand new world. I’m resisting very hard though, its tough because the beginning of worlds is my favourite part!

So… the St Claire update… Is there anything you want to know about it? Also, do you have any suggestions?

The skies of St Claire have had an overhaul! I’ve gotten much better at editing the sky ini & colour ramp files, and I am really happy with the “weather” in St Claire now. It will certainly be interesting to see how it looks with actual weather and seasons!

Another area in St Claire that’s been given a bit of love is Bradford. I have added a row of shops and a couple of apartments to fill out the gap by the subway. The shop is an apothecary or whatever it’s called in TS3, haha, and it has a little garden out the back. Across the road the two lots that flank the existing playground have been turned into parks - one with an arboretum for the local fairies, and the other has a broomstick arena for witches to let off steam. I have also furnished another of the houses that are adjacent to the park (on main street) and redecorated one of them too. No pics of those though so you’ll just have to wait and see!

Tussock Bay is an area in St Claire that I had…somewhat neglected. It was pretty much empty so in my (limited) free time, I’ve been making a couple of new houses to populate it a bit. I thought I’d show you what’s going on in Tussock Bay - the new up scale, mid century (lol, of course, right?) neighbourhood on the island. One of the houses is a no-cc rebuild of a home I made a while for Queenstown, the other two are brand new builds. All the houses are fully decorated (well, I am still in the process of decorating the big one with the pool, but you get the idea) so they’ll be ready to move in to :)

Do you think I need another one or two? Or is it better to leave empty lots for you guys to build your own?

I’ve been working on my St Claire update recently (quite slowly, mind you, as I just started my job last week) and I finally got around to decorating one of my favourite houses in the world. I thought I’d share with you the interior :) I tried to go for something a bit hollywood regency with it, as the inhabitants are very rich (one’s a celebrity psychic and the other makes a fortune with horses), and I really quite like the outcome!

Hi guys :) As previously mentioned, I am updating St Claire for when Seasons is released, and it will include a few aesthetic changes and additions to incorporate Supernatural also.

If you have been playing St Claire, and have any small requests or things that you think need to be changed after having played it for a while, I’d love to hear it. I know all about the issues some people have experienced with sims getting stuck in places they shouldn’t be when they reset their town, so those sorts of things don’t need to be mentioned again (they have already been fixed I hope!). I will definitely consider all suggestions, but please don’t be offended if I don’t implement your suggestion :) It’s nothing personal, I promise!

So from a gameplay or functional angle, or even from an aesthetic point of view, is there anything that you think is missing from the town?
